The key to feeling fully alive in your life is to allow yourself to feel all of your feelings

As human beings it is inevitable that we will experience painful, uncomfortable or uncertain moments during our life. Sometimes we are able to process these experiences on our own, while other times we are left feeling ‘stuck’ and unsure how to take the next step.

I understand that asking for help can feel vulnerable or even risky, especially when many of us hold a belief that we need to be independent, solve our own problems and figure it out alone. While I strongly believe that you are the expert of your own life, everyone can benefit from a skilled perspective to help overcome new or long-term difficulties. 

In my therapy sessions, I am warm, but direct. I will challenge you, but I will also be your biggest cheerleader. I will work to earn your trust and will never take that for granted. My psychotherapeutic approach utilises a unique blend of disciplines including Bowen family system, Gestalt, cognitive and somatic techniques, all anchored in the transpersonal perspective. You will look at different areas of your life in a non-judgmental and supportive environment, and without telling you what to do, I will help you work with your counselling goal. Whatever your struggle is, I find the answers are often in the questions if you look closely enough. 

You may feel nervous, anxious or even mistrustful starting psychotherapy for the first time. I get it: I’ve been there too. Instead of offering you vague or clichéd reassurances, I offer you my commitment to hold your story with care. You’ve come here looking for help because you’re suffering in some way big or small. Therapy is about feeling more, not less, and that may not always feel comfortable. I can’t promise to always have the answer, but I do promise to stay by your side through whatever you’re experiencing. I will be there to remind you that the change you are wanting is possible even when you’re doubting it yourself. 

Whatever you are going through, talking helps. I believe that through feeling all of your emotions, even the most uncomfortable ones, you awaken the lost, hidden and neglected parts of yourself. When you pursue the truth of who you are, wherever it might lead, that becomes the best foundation for any life choices you need to make.
